Petra Zijp has been a managing partner of NautaDutilh since 2017 and continues to practise as a capital markets partner. She graduated from Amsterdam University in 1993 (Translation Studies, English and Italian) and 1994 (Law) and joined NautaDutilh in 1995. She became a partner in 2002. Social innovation and a ‘one firm’ mindset have been recurring themes in her 27-year career at NautaDutilh, from setting up a new practice area to breaking with (outdated) conventions and jettisoning the artificial divisions that exist in many corporate law firms.
She is currently a council member of the International Bar Association’s Legal Practice Division, and was chair of the Capital Markets Forum of the International Bar Association.
At present she co-leads NautaDutilh’s capital markets group and acts as special Dutch counsel to companies, underwriters and investors in a variety of public and private equity and debt offerings and listings on Euronext Amsterdam and abroad (New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq National Market) of both Dutch and foreign stock.
Petra is ranked in Chambers Europe and Chambers Global 2021 as an Eminent Practitioner and she receives praise from market sources for being ‘very actively involved in deal work’. She is also ranked as ‘Leading Individual ECM Netherlands’ in The Legal 500 2021 and as ‘Market Leader ECM Netherlands’ in IFLR1000 2021.
